CHINA, groupe suisse produit et managé par Stephan Galfras, publie cet opus en 1989.
Globalement, le groupe oeuvre dans la mouvance des grosses cylindrés du heavy US de l'époque (POISON, MOTLEY CRUE, WASP, WARRANT, ...) : Riffs ultras efficaces, mélodies simples mais chatoyantes, choeurs omniprésents et refrains qui arrivent toujours rapidement comme en témoigne les titres « Dead light », « Animal victim », le kissien « Won't give it up » « Bitter cold » ou « Harder than hell ».
Le groupe nous gratifie de compositions plus personnelles et intéressantes comme la power ballade « Middle of the night », « Sign of the time » ou « Second Chance » mais aussi de platitudes sur « Don't ever say goodbye », « Take your time » et l'épouvantable ballade « So long ».
CHINA a sorti plusieurs albums avec des chanteurs différents et il faut l'avouer, sans qu'aucun d'entre eux ne soit vraiment convaincant.
Un bon groupe tout de même.
